Happy Halloween

Getting ready for the day. Lakyn put on my old raggedy ann doll's outfit and the wig my mom sewed on a snow cap (we were prepared for a cold night but it was actually very nice). Tatum had a bumble bee costume but it was too warm to wear it during the day so we put Lakyn's 50's girl costume from last year on Tatum. I was talking to my mom Wednesday night and thought I would be by myself on Halloween and wasn't too excited about that so she said she would come up. She arrived Thursday afternoon for a fun filled weekend. She got to re-live old memories b/c I wore the raggedy ann costume when I was 3.

We headed to downtown ann arbor for afternoon trick-or-treating. Every year they have an event called treat parade where kids walk into the downtown businesses to trick-or-treat. At least you know the candy is safe. The children were so cute downtown. Lakyn loved it. We didn't think she would keep her wig on, but she did all day!

Every year some neighbors carve tons of pumpkins in their yard. The biggest pumpkin weighed 700 lbs.
Jason was on call yesterday and today. He had a trip during the day on Halloween day and was hoping to make it back to take Lakyn around the neighborhood. Luckily, he made it home and didn't get assigned another trip. He just stayed in his work clothes for his costume! It got cool enough for Tatum to be our little bumble bee.
Raggedy Ann and her security guard (No one guessed that Jason was a pilot but he kept getting called a police officer or a security guard). She enjoyed trick-or-treating but kept trying to go into peoples houses to visit with them. I guess our trip to the beach and seeing so much family confused her (going to a different house every few days).

Lakyn's favorite part of the night was handing out candy. We sat on the porch and told her to hand out a piece of candy to some children coming up to the door. She caught on very quickly. After the first set of children came and left, she started yelling at the top of her lungs....CANDY!!!! HERE YA GO!!!!! TRI-TREAT!!!! CANDY!!!!! She was so cute! She did this most of the night. This year she didn't get as scared of the scary costumes (our friend Ryan scared her last year with his Gene Simmons Kiss costume). A few kids came up with scary masks (I hate those costumes!) and with her eyes wide open, she would stare at them, put candy in their bag without taking her eyes off of them, and whisper here ya go (poor thing!). All of us had as much fun as Lakyn yesterday. Lakyn crashed at bedtime! Tatum had another good night sleep. She has now officially been sleeping through the night for almost two weeks!!!

Oh my gosh!! Lakyn is too darn cute for words! :) Love the outfit and make-up. I think it's hilarious that she kept trying to go into peoples houses. I can see that after spending the day with her. She's so sweet and likes to feel at home anywhere :) Tatum has grown so much! Love her two costumes :) The pic of Lakyn handing out candy is too sweet. Love ya'll bunches!
